'Bon Accord' is the motto of the City of Aberdeen meaning 'Happy to meet, sorry to part, happy to meet again.' This is something that is strongly reflected in our club, many members have made many new friendships and we have a strong connection with former members. Players development and further development is foremost in our minds and as such gain many returning members when players come back to the city or otherwise. A tradition we wish to maintain always. In June 2001 Aberdeen Bon Accord Hockey Club and Milltimber, Bieldside and Cults Hockey Club merged to form Bon Accord MBC. This merger had created one of the largest hockey clubs in Aberdeen with a membership split between both youth and senior players. The club is a fully integrated family oriented Club in the North East of Scotland and only one of a handful in the country who provide hockey for both sexes and all age groups. The Club is also involved in the Scottish Hockey Union's Club Development Programme. MBC has been part of this programme since 1998 and was one of three Clubs selected that year. The main thrust of the involvement has been the establishment of a clear and stable partnership with Cults Academy and its feeder primary schools. This initiative has proved extremely successful with the Club providing coaching and organisational support for all school players.
